 Forgiving, Accepting and Loving Ourselves
"If
you aren't good at loving yourself, you will have a difficult time
loving anyone, since you'll resent the time and energy you give another
person that you aren't even giving to yourself." Barbara De Angelis
If I could wave a wand and give everyone a gift it would be that of self-love. Almost all our unhelpful patterns come from judging ourselves as 'not enough', whether it's in the past or the present, whether we're physically not slim enough or solvent enough, emotionally not decisive enough, mentally not clever enough or spiritually not disciplined enough. We then project those judgements onto those around us with blame, criticism and negative thoughts. This lack of acceptance keeps us apart from the loving essence of who we really are and stops us seeing the loving essence in those around us.
Many self-employment gurus say 'always pay yourself first' as a key to abundance, yet many self employed people pay themselves with what's left over at the end of the month. There's an energetic truth to this: give enough to yourself first and then you will have the strength and serenity to give to others with joy. Self-Love Task for today: ask yourself what you'd advise yourself to do as a self-love priority if you were your own best friend or loving guardian angel and do it. So far I've sourced and hired support with my computer system, booked a massage, a spiritual guidance session with my supervisor, lunch with a friend and a dance class!

 The Green Beautiful - 'La Belle Verte'
La Belle Verte is a French film which came out in 1996 portraying the Earth and our way of life as seen by inhabitants of another planet, much like Earth in her unspoiled state.
It's intentionally full of the black humour that the French are so good at, laughing at the cosmic absurdity of the values by which society lives. It also has some unintentional humour in the translation of some of the subtitles....!

Winter Solstice Celebration

The Winter Solstice is the time of longest darkness and shortest light
north of the Equator. It's also known as 'Yule' and is usually celebrated on
December 21st (although the date changes from year to year).
Yule is primarily the
celebration of the rebirth of the sun.
Now the waning of the year is complete, we can
decorate our homes with greenery, tell stories and light fires to keep
out the mid-winter cold. It's the time to celebrate the
truly important things in life: your family, your children, your home
and looking forward to a wonderful year to come. This evening we
celebrate the turning of the year with poetry, music and pantomime.
