The newsletter is currently read by well over 3,o00 subscribers in over 80 countries and is advertised regularly in the holistic press, as well as appearing on Facebook, Twitter and Linked In. The most productive adverts are either residential workshops or events that also offer products available online, or services that can be accessed by phone/internet as well as in person. Since the newsletter archive has a long shelf-life with search engines, please mention any add-on services that are not date-sensitive if you're advertising an event. e.g. Your workshop advert can be enhanced with a link to your online products or phone consultations. Advertisers and Readers Comments
'Thank you so much for running my recent advert in your newsletter. Within an hour of it being sent out, I was getting email enquiries. Interested people entered the competition to win a free guided meditation and others visited my website and signed up to my e-newsletter. I know that the people who are attracted to your newsletter are the right market for my services because they have a genuine interest in personal growth and healing. Your unique voice, perceptiveness and humour make your newsletters a really interesting read. I always thought it was great! It always has information

not even following links. You're generous and magical like

Would you give a stranger your number? Making Your Advert More Effective
Probably not - most of us wouldn't. Business is no different - it's about building trust and familiarity. Whatever you're offering, your potential customers need time to get to know you. Appearing in an opt-in enewsletter which attracts the market you want is like having a personal, trusted introduction. It's not always about how many people are on the mailing list either - how many actually get delivered and opened are important factors too. Spirit of Transformation has open rates way above the industry average.
A one-off ad isn't enough to build a relationship. In an enewsletter you may be luckier because it's already in a trusted source and readers may have heard of you before, so it could be the nudge they need. However, you might use at least part of your ad to generate leads for the future. It's like getting business cards at a networking event or swapping details at a workshop. For people to part with their contact details you need to offer something they value as well as something representative of your service. It gives them a taster so they can decide if they'd like more. It could be your top tips, a relaxation technique, a way to resolve conflict or your best hayfever remedy. Whatever it is, make sure it's something helpful that they will value.
Increasing the Exposure of Your Advert
Even after the main issue date, each newsletter continues to go to new subscribers throughout the month and is posted on Twitter and Facebook. It is then archived on the website, so google will find your ad for a year or more.
'I had such a huge response from my adverts - and Nikki's advice on what would work best was invaluable. Within just a few days I had over 28 people sign up to my programme. This is really the spirit of co-operation as well as a wonderful partnership and I will definitely advertise again!' Sarupa Shah, www.heavenlyspaces.co.uk
