We often talk about choice in personal growth and taking responsibility
for our choices. It seems to me that the most important choice
is the first one we make - our soul's choice to be here - to
incarnate on this earth, into this family, under these set of
circumstances and at this time in mankind's history.
Many of the problems which arrive in my consulting room
come from our reluctance to accept that initial choice. If
you find you harbour chronic feelings of resentment, bitterness
and anger (problems with your liver and gall bladder are a
physical clue to this pattern) then a great exercise is to
write down all the things you feel resentful about, however
irrational. Spill all the bile onto the paper - really 'vent
your spleen'.
I did this once years ago and after writing
what looked like a draft for war and peace, I came up with
the fact that I thoroughly resented my choice to be here.
Well, that certainly took me to the root of my internal conflict!
It was a bit like my soul driving around my physical body
with an irritable child in the back, forever wanting sweets,
moaning she was bored, felt sick and whining "Are we there
yet?" And no, surprisingly life didn't feel a whole lot
of fun at the time.
I often hear people say that they feel this lifetime was
some kind of cosmic mistake and who are in quite a rush to
'go home' - causing a whole chain of self-sabotaging patterns.
They may not actively choose to let go of life but they haven't
committed to being here either. Sitting on life's fence, which
often involves considerable emotional and physical suffering,
waiting for life/God/the perfect chocolate or soulmate to
prove it's really worth our while to take part, we miss out
on so much that life has to offer. If you resonate with this
dilemma then it's important to accept your choice to be here
and to recommit to life. Great ways to do that include:
Making time to do things you truly enjoy, whether that's
walking by the sea or through a garden of flowers (too much
washing up can sap the will to live - and it will still
be there when you get back!)
Spending time with those you love, planning surprises
for them, sharing their pleasure
Exploring your creativity - painting singing, dancing,
mosaic making, decorating - playing with sound and colour
is truly joyful
Enjoying your physical body - massage, aromatherapy,
fresh organic food, swimming in the sea, paragliding through
the air, stroking your pet and holding a loved one close
There are also some helpful flower essences for this state
of mind and spirit. Dr Bach who found the Bach Flower Remedies
was so familiar with it that he has a whole group of them
dedicated to 'Lack of interest in current circumstances'.
There's also Willingness
and Acceptance in the
Inner Child essence range and if your inner child has a habit
of kicking the back of the driver's seat and making faces
at passers by, then Goodwill
is highly recommended! Then again you could book a consultation
on the phone or in person and we can unravel your story together
and make up a personal essence blend, so that you can look
forward to journeying forward in joyful and fascinating dialogue
with your soul, admiring the scenery and, who knows, even
getting engaged in a little map reading from time to time!
Personal Blends
Individual flower and crystal essences can also be mixed
into a blend for you. If you need guidance or you'd like a
personal blend made up, Nikki can attune for the essences
most appropriate for your growth and healing.
