What story are you telling yourself about your life?
It may be different depending on the arena. Perhaps at work you've cast yourself as a supportive team-member or a driven pioneer, while at home you're a parent who rarely gets it right or in relationship you feel you're destined never to find long-term fulfillment.
It's always useful to notice what beliefs underpin the roles you've taken on. For example: 'I can't give what I never received', 'everyone in my family is rubbish with money','I get overwhelmed in social situations', 'sooner or later my jealousy and insecurity drives partners away'.
If we look at what we're manifesting in different areas of our life, we can see what beliefs we need to change. When you commit to working every day at that level of consciousness, you'll see real change.

What if that isn't what it means?

When do you make two and two equal five? We've all got painful experiences in our past that can be triggered by present-day reminders.
Maybe you can't look at a particular brand of alcohol without remembering a really nasty hangover or perhaps there's a food or restaurant chain that you connect to an unforgettable stomach bug.
Interestingly it's not just the physical memory that's triggered, it's all the emotions around it, and that's when two and two can make five - at least in your nervous system. If you associate feelings of love with heartbreak or betrayal you may unconsciously suppress any tender feelings. If you associate public speaking with a disastrous moment at school when you felt shamed and humiliated, you may be paralysed with fear. If you feel a twinge in some part of your body that previously led to a painful medical or dental procedure you might start to panic.
This is how we unconsciously press repeat on the past - by creating meaning that isn't there. In fact, if we can be aware of what's happening, it can offer a chance to heal that painful past event by allowing a different experience this time round.

So next time you notice fear or discomfort arising, decide that two and two only make four. When your subconscious starts to connect to the old story, breathe in for the count of four and out for the count of six. Do some tapping or EFT while voicing how you're feeling.
Bach remedies are also an excellent choice when you need to bring feelings back into balance. For example in these situations I'd choose Chestnut Bud if I felt I was in danger of repeating a past experience and not seeing the lesson, Gentian if I felt discouraged because I was remembering past failures, Gorse if I was sent spiralling into despair and Rock Rose if it was full-on panic. At that point I'd probably also whip out my Revival remedy spray, as it's the fastest-acting general balancer in any situation.
So notice if you're feeling uncomfortable, overwhelmed, anxious or disconnected and ask yourself if you may be unconsciously revisiting old stories. Only when they have released their hold will you be able to write new narratives that allow you to act differently.

Play the Transformation Game

 Do you have a question or a heartfelt desire? Are you confused - unsure which path is your purpose?
Life is governed by certain universal laws. When we put out a desire - whether negative or positive - the universe responds. Once upon a time we lived much simpler lives and it was easier to notice this constant 'call and response' but now, our lives are so busy that we rarely take enough time to be still or mentally quiet and pay attention. If much of what we send out is unconscious, we end up baffled when life responds with apparently random roadblocks or flowers.
The Transformation Game is a board game developed at Findhorn to reflect the way that we interact with life. Simply playing it will give you a sense of how to succeed at what you really want, because you'll be reminded of the 'rules'.
You begin with a playing focus that you've committed to and, holding this in your mind and in the mind of the group, you begin to journey through your life path that's mapped out on the board. Every player has the same opportunities to accumulate pain and awareness, to create miracles, to get stuck, to help others or to serve themselves. As in real life, what influences your outcomes are the choices that you make.
As a trained and experienced Game facilitator, I've found the Game can be a great way to rehearse decisions so you can see how they will play out in reality. It also makes it easy to see what's getting in the way of what you want and to find a new way forward that will take you where you want to go.

Do You Have Book Inside You?
.. or perhaps it's already half-written.. maybe it only requires editing.. or illustrating... or you need help getting it published?
When I'm trying to achieve anything, I find group energy and accountability are key - the cheerleading and having other people to share with makes the journey fun - especially if you start to flag once the initial excitement wears off. This course - 40 Days to a Finished Book - has all these elements in spades.
Leonie Dawson is a bestselling Australian author who ran this course earlier this year. So many people finally moved from a dream of writing a book to actually doing it, that she's running it again starting Sept 1.
