How embodied are you? One of the results of trauma is when that painful memory is triggered we often leave our body or disassociate. This can mean we go into our heads where it seems safer.

Unfortunately that means we break the circuit of how we're wired to process and release emotion. Emotion needs to be felt in our heart and then travel through our body's energy channels into the earth and the air where it dissipates.

Once we retreat into our mind and intellectualise or analyse our feelings, thoughts and fears can escalate. We may begin to catastrophise. Looping thoughts may constantly replay: either painful past events or sad or scary future scenarios. This negative focus affects our frequency, brings down our immunity and impacts our ability to manifest positive outcomes.

Apart from walking in nature - and hugging trees:) - one excellent way to bring yourself gently and more fully into your body is QiGong - the free workshop below is accessible at any age and any fitness level.
