The lesson of this chakra is learning to let go and trust. An imbalance here is indicated by an inability to find inner peace. Our sacral chakra extends across our pelvis, hips and lower back and includes the organs that create life itself. Depending on our gender it's either where we create the seed of life or where we nurture it. Our base or root chakra is where we commonly repress strong emotions such as anger, bitterness, jealousy, fear and grief. This chakra governs our mental stability, our spiritual security, our physical sexuality and our emotional ability to enjoy our senses. When it's out of balance due to past life or current life experiences we may find ourselves at one end of a particular polarity or veering between two extremes. For example we may flip between having a low libido or being over-sexed. We may be obsessive or depressed.
